Reijiro Wada has installed four panes of insulated glass on the surface of lake Waldsee in a manner corresponding to the order of tatami mats around the open fireplace in a traditional Japanese house. The floating panes of glass direct the gaze into the depths of the lake.

He deals with the most simple ways of intervening in nature, which are analogous to gates; window are vistas and intimate the finiteness of existence against the background of eternal creation.
